Especially if Blizzard wants "hardcore pc diablo fans" to be into the game. Still, I find it strange that there isn't a PC version of Diablo Immortal. Because then the conversation probably shifts to waiting for the "real" Diablo game.
The only reason I could see Diablo 4 not being announced is to not over shadow the mobile game announcement. Remember, the only booing that truly happened was when a fan asked if this game was coming to pc, and Blizzard had a wonderful Don Mattrick type response of "Don't you have phones?" Even if Diablo Immortal is a watered down experience (which is very likely) this could have kept pc gamers happy with some new content until who knows when Diablo 4 would be out. Just ports to diablo 3 to other platforms. You have to remember Diablo fans see other Bilizzard games like Overwatch and World of Warcraft getting regular content updates while they get nothing substantial for years outside of a Necromancer update. There are plenty of games that are mobile/PC nowadays. I feel like this disaster could have been avoided if Blizzard had just announced a PC version of Diablo Immortal. AND they announced an ES mobile game, with no outrage from fans. They don't even have a subtitle for it yet! And they even said later to not expect it for a long time. A 36-second trailer of nothing more than the name of the game itself. Announcing the game as Diablo 4 and then changing the title before release wouldn't matter.ĭo we need more proof that a simple announcement is all fans need to be content?
